Being a By-law to amend By-Law 2025-078 - 2026 Fees and Charges for the imposition and collection of fees for certain municipal services and activities. Whereas Section 391(1) of the Municipal Act, S.O. 2001, c.25, as amended, provides that a Municipality and a local board may pass by-laws imposing fees or charges on persons for services or activities as provided or done by or on behalf of it; for costs payable by it for services or activities provided or done by or on behalf of any other municipality or any local board; and for the use of its property including property under its control; and Whereas By-law 2025-078 was passed on December 3, 2025, to enact fees and charges for municipal services, programs and facilities; and Whereas the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Georgian Bluffs deems it expedient and necessary to amend Schedule "M" of By-Law 2025-078 to include administrative fees for the cost recovery of cemetery services; Therefore, the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Georgian Bluffs enacts the following: 1. That Schedule "M" of By-Law 2025-078 be repealed and replaced by the amended Schedule "M" attached hereto. 2. That this by-law shall come into force and effect upon being passed by Council. Sale of Oxenden Columbarium fees are contingent on approval from BAO. 2. Plaques must be purchased for every niche. 3. Township of Georgian Bluffs will order the plaques. Cost includes plaque plus any end date plaques and freight charges (if purchased pre-need). 4. Plaques include two names, dates of birth and dates of death (price includes installation, engraving and freight). 5. Columbarium Care and Maintenance must be 15% or $165.00, whichever is greater as per the Funeral, Burial and Cremation Services Act, 2002. 6. Prices may be adjusted year over year. 7. End date plaques will be needed if plaque is bought pre-need, before known date of death. End date plaques are fastened onto existing plaque.
