THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF KAPUSKASING
BY-LAW NO. 4703
Being a by-law to impose a sewage service rate
and water service rate for the year 2026.
WHEREAS the Corporation of the Town of Kapuskasing operates a sewage
works plant and a water works plant;
AND WHEREAS sections 390 to 400 of the Municipal Act, S. O. 2001, as
amended, enables municipalities to pass by-laws for imposing fees and charges for
permits and services provided or done by them;
AND WHEREAS it is deemed desirable to approve water service rate, sewage
service rate and fees charged for Town of Kapuskasing;
NOW THEREFORE THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF
THE TOWN OF KAPUSKASING ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1.
That the sewage service rate for the year 2026 will be set as per the attached
Schedule “A”, which forms part of this by-law and is hereby adopted.
That the water service rate for the year 2026 will be set as per the attached
Schedule “B”, which forms part of this by-law and is hereby adopted.
The sewer service rate based upon water usage will be invoice monthly for
larger users and quarterly for remaining users.
The sewage and water service rates shall be payable upon due date and if in
default after due dates, a penalty of 1.25 per cent shall be added and thereafter
a penalty of 1.25 per cent per month will be added on the 1st day of each and
every month the default continues, until December 318: and if in default on
January 1*, interest shall be added at the rate of 1.25 per cent per month, each
month or fraction thereof in which default continues.
This by-law shall be deemed to come into force and take effect on July 1, 2026
at which time By-Law No. 4633 is repealed.

SEWAGE SERVICE RATES
In the case of properties which are not exempt from municipal taxation the
sewage service rate shall consist of a principal rate based on water usage and
a secondary rate based on assessment.
(a) | The sewer service usage rate to be imposed on one cubic meter (m5) of
metered water consumption is:
-On July 1, 2026 $4.72

WATER SERVICE RATES
The following minimum monthly fee will apply to every account:
-On July 1, 2026: $33.81
A water service rate based on one cubic meter (m*) of metered water
consumption shall be imposed as follows:
-On July 1, 2026: $3.72
