# Applications, Licences, and Permits
The Township of Mapleton administers various licences and permits for businesses, individuals and organizations to ensure public health and safety, consumer protection, fairness in business practices, and quality control of service. The application process and associated fees will vary depending on the type of application, licence or permit required. Certificates
**Birth Certificates**

Permits
**Building Permits**
The purpose of a Building Permit is to ensure the minimum standards of the Ontario Building Code are met in order to protect the health and safety of building occupants by regulating design, construction, quality of materials, use and occupancy of buildings and structures. **Burn Notifications**
Our Open Air Burning By-law states that any open air fires within the Township of Mapleton that exceed a ground area of 2 meters x 2 meters require a minimum of 24 hour prior notification to the Township by requesting a burn permit. **Entrance Permits**
Properties that do not currently have access from the municipal road to enter a property require an Entrance Permit. For more information, please contact the Township offices at 519-638-3313 ext. 046.

**Special Event Permits**
