Marathon Zoning By-law 1873 defines a 'tourist home' as a single-detached dwelling rented by the night or for less than a month (s.2.175). Tourist homes are a permitted use in the Residential 1 (R1) zone (s.7.1). The by-law sets no other STR-specific conditions. Bed and breakfasts need an annual Town licence (s.4.4).
