Markham Comprehensive Zoning By-law 2024-19 limits short-term accommodation to stays under 30 days, no more than 180 days a year, in the host's principal residence (definition). It is prohibited on hazardous lands (s.4.7) and cannot be run as a home occupation. STR licensing is under Markham's separate licensing by-law.
