# Paying Your Water Bill
Introduction of $2 paper billing fee for water bills
Paper water bills will have a $2 fee starting in March 2026.
This fee helps cover the real costs of printing and mailing paper bills, such as paper, envelopes, and postage. It also cuts down on paper use, improves service, and is more reliable during mail disruptions.
Those who sign up for e-billing will not be charged the $2 fee.

## 2026 Water Bill Dates
Water accounts are billed every two months. Please keep your water bill. There is a $15 charge for water statements and / or bill reprints.

NOTE: Overdue bills will incur a monthly 1.25% penalty.
## Payment options
* **Pre-authorized payment plan (PAPP)** - complete the PAPP enrollment online or print the PAPP form to submit in-person. Payments will be withdrawn automatically from your bank account on the due date.
* **Internet banking or Telebanking** through your online banking account - Under "pay a bill," search for "Mississippi Mills" as the payee, choose "Mississippi Mills (TWN) - Water" and use the **first six numbers** of your water account as the account number.
* **Bank** - available at most banks
* **In Person** by cash, debit or cheque at the municipal office during regular business hours
* After-hours drop box located at the rear of the municipal office building
* Post-dated cheques
* By mail
## Buying or selling a home in Mississippi Mills?
Please contact the Tax/Water Clerk at 613-256-2064 (option 3) to provide the address and closing date of the sale so a water meter reading can be scheduled for that date. Sellers will need to provide a forwarding address for a final water bill. Lawyers are asked to forward a copy of the Registered Transfer when the sale closes to provide the information the municipality needs to transfer both tax and water accounts to the new owners.
