### Public Notice - Temporary pause on building permit issuance for accessory dwelling units in the Town of Shelburne
The Town of Shelburne is currently experiencing wastewater servicing capacity constraints. As a result, building permits for new accessory dwelling units (ADUs), including basement apartments, that require wastewater capacity allocation cannot be issued at this time.
Property owners considering the construction of an accessory dwelling unit are encouraged to contact the Town of Shelburne prior to making significant investments in design or construction planning.

## Dufferin County's Building Division is ready to support the community with permit applications, document requests, and general information.
The County provides building services for East Garafraxa, Grand Valley, Melancthon, Mono, Mulmur, and Shelburne.
If your property is located in the Town of Orangeville or the Township of Amaranth, please reach out to their building departments for application information.
For zoning information, please reach out to your local Town/Township. Click here for contact information.
A storage shed is exempt from the requirement to obtain a building permit provided that the shed, (a) is not more than 15 squared metres in gross area, (b) is not more than one storey in building height, (c) is not attached to a building or any other structure, (d) is used only for storage purposes ancillary to a principal building on the lot, and (e) does not have plumbing
Even if your project does not require a building permit, zoning approval from your local Town/Township may still be required. Please contact them directly.
