# Waste and Recycling ## Waste Sites North Frontenac operates a network of Transfer Stations and Waste Sites. Waste Sites are the final resting place for non-recyclable garbage, requiring regular cover of soil to prevent garbage from attracting wildlife or blowing around as litter. The Cloyne Transfer Station, Ompah Transfer Station and Kashwakamak Waste Site accept clear bagged household waste and Blue Box recyclables only. The 506 Waste Site, Plevna Waste Site and Mississippi Waste Site each accept clear bagged household waste, sorted construction and demolition waste, large household items (e.g. appliances, furniture etc.), scrap metal and recycling. Payment in accordance with the Fees and Charges By-law, as amended, can be completed by either cash or cheque at all of the Waste Sites and Transfer Stations. ![Complete your Waste Site Permit Application online.](https://www.northfrontenac.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Waste-Site-Permit-1.jpg) ![View the Township's Waste Site Hours.](https://www.northfrontenac.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Calendar-1.jpg) ![View the Township's Fees and Charges By-law.](https://www.northfrontenac.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/Fees-and-charges-1.jpg) You are required to have a bag tag at the price of $2.00 or pay $2.00 at the waste site to dispose of one bag of waste. If you bring in recycling, you will receive one free bag tag for any additional bags of recycling compared to number of bags of waste. Tags can be acquired at the Municipal Office. The Township of North Frontenac has mandatory clear bag usage. This is to encourage the rate of recycling while increasing the lifespan of our waste sites. Our residents are reassured of proper recycling by Waste Site Attendants during bag inspections. Mixed bags will be declined for proper separation. **Privacy bag** You may contain one opaque (coloured) privacy bag of no more than 1 cubic foot (1'x1'x1′) inside each large clear waste bag for personal hygienic products. View our Fees and Charges By-law on the Township's Civic Web Portal where all Township By-laws are e-published. View our printable Waste Site Hours for more information.
