We provide curbside waste collection from roughly 53,000 households across the County and its eight area municipalities. ## New: Collection changes in downtown Woodstock Beginning October 6, 2026, businesses and residents in downtown Woodstock will receive twice-weekly garbage and green bin organics collection every Tuesday and Friday. Learn more ## Organics (green bin) collection The Organics (green bin) program is a new curbside collection service for food scraps and other organic waste that will help divert material from landfill. The program launched in January 2026 for Woodstock and South-West Oxford, with the remaining municipalities joining in May 2027. Download the schedule --- ## What's new ### The Oxford County Waste Management Facility will be closed for Thanksgiving on Monday, October 12, and will reopen Tuesday, October 13. There will be no waste collection in Woodstock and South-West Oxford (six-day cycle) on Monday, October 12. Collection will be pushed back one day. Monday waste collection in Zorra and north Ingersoll will remain unaffected by the holiday. Residents are encouraged to download the Wasteline app and turn on notifications to stay up to date on waste collection in your area or visit www.wasteline.ca for more information. ### The Hazardous Waste Facility at the Oxford County Waste Management Facility has updated how it accepts and stores batteries. This applies to materials from both residents and businesses.** Blue box materials will not be accepted as garbage. Customers who bring blue box recyclable materials to the facility will be required to take them home. ### Why is this changing? Starting January 1, 2026, the Ontario government changed how blue box recycling is managed, making the companies that produce packaging and paper products responsible for collecting and recycling those materials. The new system is managed by Circular Materials on behalf of producers. ### Residential recycling Residents should continue placing blue box materials at the curb for collection. Circular Materials is responsible for residential recycling collection and drop-off locations; however, they do not currently operate a recycling depot in Oxford County. For missed collections, blue box inquiries, or questions about acceptable materials, contact Emterra Environmental at 1-888-597-1541 or email [email protected]. For other questions or concerns about the residential recycling program, contact Circular Materials at 1-877-667-2626 or email [email protected]. ### Business recycling Businesses are no longer eligible to receive curbside blue box recycling collection through the residential program operated by Circular Materials. To address this service gap, Oxford County has started a business, commercial and institutional (BCI) curbside recycling program. Businesses and eligible organizations can apply for Oxford County's BCI curbside recycling program or arrange recycling service through a private waste management company. You can find more information about the BCI program here. If you have additional questions, please contact [email protected]. ### ![Cover of wasteline newsletter](https://cdn.umb-sites.dev/county/media/0myfndz0/social-latest-wasteline-newsletter-20260511.jpg?rmode=max&width=199&height=249)The April edition of Oxford County's Waste Management newsletter, Wasteline, is now online and in mailboxes.
