## THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF OPASATIKA
## BY-LAW NO 2024-15
Being a by-law to establish a sewage service rate
WHEREAS Section 221, Subsection 20, of the Municipal Act, Chapter M.45, R.S.O. 1990, as amended, authorizes the Council of a municipality to establish a sewage service rate.
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Opasatika ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. There is hereby imposed upon the owners or occupants of land which are supplied with sewage service, a sewage service rate to pay for the operation, repair, maintenance, depreciation, deferred maintenance or a reserve fund for any purpose of the sewage works.
2. The annual sewage service rate shall be as set out in the attached "Schedule A".
3. The sewage service rate shall be charged as a flat rate from January 1st to December 31, 2024.
4. The sewage service rate shall become due and payable in one instalment as per the interim tax bills and another two instalments as per the final tax bills.
5. On all sewage service rates in default after due dates, a monthly penalty of 1.25 percent shall be added on the 1st day of each and every month the default continues until December 31, 2024.
6. On all sewage services rates in default on January 1, 2024, interest will be charged at the rate of 1.25 percent per month in which default continues.
7. This by-law repeals By-Law 2023-09 and 2024-06.
