Regulates dog licensing, maximum dogs per dwelling, running at large, leash requirements, excessive barking/howling nuisance, kennels, impounding and enforcement.
Prohibits tethering an animal in a manner causing it distress and leaving an animal in a motor vehicle under distress conditions; authorizes a poundkeeper and gives officers entry/inspection and enforcement powers.
Prohibits keeping exotic animals in the City, with grandfathering for animals already owned and exemptions for veterinary hospitals, the OSPCA and City-sanctioned events. Current to Sept 2023.
