# Water Rates
Water rates are structured to support the delivery of safe, clean, and reliable water to homes and businesses while encouraging conservation and responsible use.
Water rates are set by the Public Utilities Commission on an annual basis. These rates are designed to cover the costs of maintaining and upgrading the water system infrastructure, ensuring continued access to this essential resource.

**Basic Charge**
A monthly basic charge shall be applicable for services up to 18 inches in size. The basic charge shall be the greater sum of the monthly metered consumption plus $39.32 or the monthly basic charge for the applicable service size.

**Metered Water Rates**
94.7 cents per cubic metre for the first 15 cubic metres for each one month period.
2.82 dollars per cubic metre for the next 250 cubic metres for each one month period.
2.23 dollars per cubic metre for the remainder of water consumption.
Customer accounts are billed monthly and are due when rendered.
