THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF SCHREIBER
BYLAW 46-2025
BEING A BYLAW TO SET RATES AND FEES FOR
WATER AND SEWER SERVICES
WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Schreiber deems it advisable
to set fees for water and sewer services,
AND WHEREAS pursuant to the Municipal Act 2001, Part XII, Section 391, Council may do
so,
NOW THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF
SCHREIBER ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1.0
PART I: WATER AND SEWER RATES
1.1
Water and sewer rates are listed in Schedule "A" attached hereto and forming part of
this Bylaw.
1.2
All water and sewer rates are calculated annually and billed quarterly in the first week
of January, April, July and October of the current year. Such rates are due and
payable on the last business day of January, April, July and October in the current
year.
1.3
There shall be an additional charge of one and one-quarter per cent (1.25%) per
month on any water and sewer rates which remain unpaid after the payment due date.
1.4
All water and sewer rates shall be billed to the registered owner of the serviced
property.
1.5
Bylaw 38-2024 is rescinded in its entirety.
2.0
PART II: SERVICE FEES
2.1
Fees for services provided, other than water and sewer rates, are as listed in Schedule
"B" attached hereto and forming part of this Bylaw.
2.2
Prior to water service turn on, all rates and service charges/fees for the account must
be paid in full, including the service turn on fee.
2.3
No water service turn on will be scheduled unless a signed request by the property
owner is received and the property owner (or designate) is in attendance at the
property at the time of turn on service.
2.4
At the time of water service turn-off, the property owner (or designate) must certify by
signed acknowledgement that the water service is disconnected.
3.0
PART III: GENERAL
3.1
This Bylaw shall come into effect as of January 1, 2026.
3.2
This Bylaw may be cited for all purposes as "Township of Schreiber Water and Sewer
Services Rates and Fees Bylaw 46-2025".
READ A FIRST AND SECOND TIME this 9th day of December 2025.
READ A THIRD TIME AND FINALLY ENACTED this 9th day of December 2025.

Lateral Repairs
*Labour rates are based on a minimum of two
employees attending; additional rates apply
for instances where additional staff are
required. Additional rates will be 50% of the
per hour rate per additional staff member.
*Labour:
$110/hr (during regular working hours)
$165/hr (outside regular working hours;
minimum call out 3 hours = $495)
Equipment:
$125/hr (using Township equipment)
Actual billed rate for rental equipment plus
30% overhead
Materials: Actual cost plus 30% overhead
Water Turn Off for repairs
$110.00 (at customer request for up to 48
hours in duration)
Water Turn Off/On
(including Vacant Unit Lock Outs)
$110.00 each (at customer request - for
duration lasting longer than 48 hours)
Materials: cost plus 30% overhead
