## Comprehensive Zoning By-law Update
The Township of South Algonquin has begun the process of developing a new Comprehensive Zoning By-law to better align with the Township's Official Plan, current planning policies, and legislative requirements.
A draft Comprehensive Zoning By-law was presented to the Committee of the Whole on July 22, 2026, for review and comment, marking the beginning of the formal review process.
### Public Consultation
As part of the review process, the Township held in-person open houses, virtual consultation opportunities, and a statutory Public Meeting in September to provide residents and property owners with an opportunity to learn more about the proposed Zoning By-law and provide feedback.
The consultation sessions were well attended, and the Township received significant feedback and comments from residents and property owners. The Township would like to thank everyone who attended a session, submitted written comments, or otherwise participated in the consultation process.
The following consultation sessions were held:
**Wednesday, September 9, 2026 - In-Person Open Houses**

**Thursday, September 10, 2026 - In-Person Open House**

**Thursday, September 10, 2026 - Virtual Consultation Sessions**
2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
**Wednesday, September 16, 2026 - Statutory Public Meeting**

### Next Steps
Township staff and the Township's planning consultant are reviewing the comments and feedback received through the public consultation process.
A summary of the comments received, along with suggested changes to the draft Comprehensive Zoning By-law, will be presented to Council at the Regular Council Meeting on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, for Council's review and direction.
The Township continues to welcome comments and feedback on the draft Comprehensive Zoning By-law.
