# Development Charges By-law Update
The Township has kicked off a review and update of Development Charges By-law 20-084 which was passed in 2020 and will expire January 1st, 2026. Development Charges are an important source of the Township's revenue used to help finance the costs of growth-related capital projects. Working with the firm Hemson Consulting Ltd., the Township will be producing a Development Charges Background Study and draft updated Development Charges By-law which will be available for review and comment in the spring. Follow along with **Tiny Connect** to receive updates on the project.
* The Township is hold a Statutory Public Meeting on **Wednesday, September 3, 2025,** to discuss proposed development charge rates as well as the policies that
will be applied throughout the Township. Council will be considering the approval of an updated development charges by-law on a date following this public meeting.
