# Water & Sewer Billing/Rates
## Water & Sewer Account Set-up / Billing
New customers will have to set up an account with Wellington North Power Inc. in order to be properly billed for water and sewer services. Please note that costs for hydro, water and sewer usage will be billed together.

## Other Fees
* In addition to the charges for water, being the Residential Rate or the General Service Rate in Arthur and Mount Forest hereinbefore set out, there shall be a **separate water rate of $81.20 payable annually** to the Township by the landowner for each swimming pool located on a parcel of land during each year or part thereof. For the purposes of this paragraph a swimming pool shall be an in-ground or above-ground swimming pool containing 8,000 gallons of water or more.
* a)At the request of owner to facilitate private water system maintenance; or
b)Will only be allowed if the electrical service is also disconnected or reconnected for the same period of time
A service fee will be charged per disconnect/connect (1 water turn off, 1 water turn on).

* Any property owner requesting a service call will be charged a **minimum $81.20 fee if the problem is found to be on the landowner's property**. Any involvement by the Township in the repair of services on private property shall be billed to the property owner on a time and material basis.

## Reports
* In 2025, DFA Infrastructure International Inc. (DFA) was retained by the Township to conduct a comprehensive Water and Wastewater Rate Review. The study includes an evaluation of the existing rate structure, the determination of the full cost of service for water and wastewater over ten (10) years from 2026 to 2035 inclusive, and the calculation of rates that adequately fund the cost of service, while treating ratepayers in a fair and equitable manner.

* DFA Infrastructure International Inc. (DFA) on behalf of the Township has prepared a financial plan in accordance with the Financial Plan regulation (O. Reg. 453/07) made under the Safe Drinking Water Act. The financial plan was approved by Resolution of Council on October 29, 2025. This financial plan represents one of the key elements required to obtain or renew a Municipal Drinking Water Licence.
