Fences up to 1.83m (6ft), or 2.44m (8ft) next to commercial lots, need no permit. Swimming pools require a 1.8m fence with a self-closing, self-latching gate. On corner lots, fences/hedges/trees within the sight-triangle (6m from the intersection) may not exceed 0.6m (2ft).
