BYLAW 2023-06
A BYLAW TO FIX THE RATES TO BE CHARGED FOR THE
USE AND CONSUMPTION OF WATER AND TO FIX THE
RATES TO BE CHARGED BY WAY OF RENT OR SERVICE
CHARGE FOR THE USE OF THE SEWER
The council of the Village of Jansen in the Province of Saskatchewan enacts as
follows:
1. Persons who own or occupy premises connected to the water system or are
required by bylaw to be connected to the system, shall pay a monthly charge as
per Schedule "A" of this Bylaw.
a. For all new or leased premises connected to the system, there shall be a levy
against the person occupying such premises, a meter or security deposit of
$150.00.
2. Persons who own or occupy premises drained, or that are by bylaw required to
be drained into the sewer system, shall pay for such service a rental rate or
service charge in accordance with Schedule "A".
3. Accounts for water service and/or sewer service shall cover a period of three
successive months and shall be rendered on or before the first day of the month
next following such period.
4. Accounts shall be paid within a period of thirty days from the date on which such
accounts are rendered. If an account is not paid within the period of thirty days,
the water service may be cut off. When the water service is cut off, it shall not be
turned on until all arrears have been paid, together with a fee of $50.00 to cover
the expenses of turning off the water and turning it on again, provided that if it is
required shall take effect in all respects as Schedule A to Bylaw No 2023-06.
5. The schedule attached and marked "A".
6. That Bylaw 2016-06 is hereby repealed.
7. The rates, charges, tolls or rents contained in this bylaw shall come into force
and take effect upon approval being issued by the Local Government Committee
or January 1, 2024, whichever is the later.

WATER (per month)
2024 Rates
For the first 9m3 ....................................$44.10
In excess of 9m3 shall be charges $1.10 for each per m3 of
water consumed.
SEWER (per month)
All uses ..............................................$23.50
