BOX 58
MARYFIELD SK SOG 3KO
Dear Ms. Neufeld:
Enclosed for your records is approval of utility rates pursuant to Section 23(3) of The
Municipalities Act.
The Local Government Committee recommends Council establish a specified utility reserve and
recommends that the full amount of annual utility surplus be placed in the reserve when
possible.
Committee notes that the utility rates may not be sufficient to cover utility operating expenses
and debt repayment is considered. Council should continue to monitor utility rates, to ensure
that the utility is self-sustaining (revenues cover operating expenses and debt payments related
to the utility), and enable the Village to contribute to a specified utility reserve, to be used for
future capital expenditures.
Yours truly,
