In the City of Melfort, Saskatchewan, fences & pool enclosures rules are set by City of Melfort Bylaw No. 2011-13 (The Private Swimming Pool Bylaw) and 1 other bylaw, verified 2026-09-27. Max height front: 1 metre (3.3 ft.). Max height rear side: 2 metres (6.56 ft.). Pool enclosure: Enclosure minimum height 1.5 m, non-climbable; gates self-closing, self-latching, lockable; chain link mesh max 38.1 mm, wire min 11 gauge.

Requires a permit before building a private pool. Enclosure must be min. 1.5m high, non-climbable exterior, chain-link mesh <=38.1mm/11-gauge min.; gates need self-closing, self-latching and locking hardware and must stay locked when pool unattended.
