BYLAW 2-96 A BYLAW OF THE TOWN OF OXBOW TO CONTROL OR ELIMINATE DUTCH ELM DISEASE WITHIN THE TOWN OF OXBOW. WHEREAS Dutch Elm disease is a fatal disease which can affect any elm tree and, WHEREAS Section 12(b) of the urban Municipality Act, 1984, provides the authority, NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Town of Oxbow in the Province of Saskatchewan enact as follows: 1. That the Town may participate in programs and measures relating to the quarantine, destruction and chemical or other treatment of plants infected or suspected of being infected with Dutch Elm disease and may charge the costs of so doing to the owner of the land on which the plants are situated according to schedule of fees established by the Council. 2. That it shall be an offence for anyone to sell, transport or possess elm firewood within the town limits. 3. That the enforcement and penalties relating to this bylaw shall be in accordance with the provisions of the Town of Oxbow. 4.
