## RURAL MUNICIPALITY OF VISCOUNT NO. 341 BYLAW NO. 2020-01
## A BYLAW TO REGULATE THE SPEED OF CERTAIN MOTOR VEHICLES ON CERTAIN ROADS WITHIN THE RURAL MUNICIPALITY OF VISCOUNT No. 341
THE COUNCIL OF THE RURAL MUNICIPALITY OF VISCOUNT NO. 341, in the Province of
Saskatchewan, enacts as follows:
1. This bylaw shall be known as and referred to as the "Speed Limit Bylaw".
2. In this bylaw:
- a. "municipality" means the Rural Municipality of Viscount No. 341
- b. "municipal road" means a public highway or municipally owned roadway that is under the direction, management and control of the municipality.
5. . "roadway" means that part of a public highway designed or intended for use by vehicles, but does not include a trail designated under The Snowmobile Act or any other trail or path for which a permit is required.
- c. "public highway" means a road allowance or a road, street or lane vested in or owned by the province including anything erected on or in connection with the public highway;
3. No person shall operate a vehicle which is greater than ten (10) tonne at a speed greater than sixty (60) km per hour on any public highway in the municipality.
4. School buses are exempt from section 3 of this bylaw and do not need to decrease their speed to 60km/hr due to the weight of the vehicle.
5. Notwithstanding the generality of Section 3, no person shall operate a vehicle at a speed greater than 40km/hr on that portion of a public highway described as follows: Commencing at the south intersection of Highway #16 and Grid Road #670 and ceasing at the intersection of the Canadian Pacific Rail Line and Grid Road #670.
6. Signs indicating the restricted vehicle weight and maximum speed shall be erected at the commencement of the speed zone area.
7. Any person who contravenes any of the provisions of this bylaw is guilty of an offence and liable on summary conviction to the penalties provided in the General Penalty Bylaw of the municipality.
8. Bylaw #2018-10 is hereby repealed.
