## THE RESORT VILLAGE OF SUNSET COVE
## BYLAW No. 64/2002
A bylaw to Regulate and Ensure the safe operation of Privat Swimming Pool
The Council of The Resort Village of Sunset Cove, in the Province of Saskatchewan, enacts as follows:
- That the following definitions shall apply in the interpretation and enforcement of this Bylaw:
- a) Private Swimming Pool: Shall mean and include a swimming pool that is not defined as a public swimming pool in the Saskatchewan Regulation Chapter P-37.1 Reg. 7 The Swimming Pool Regulations, 1999, being a structure, basin, chamber, or tank containing an artificial body of water for swimming, diving, or recreational bathing and having a depth of two feet or more at any point..
- b) Resort Village shall mean the Resort Village Of Sunset Cove.
2. a) That all swimming pools within the Resort Village shall be enclosed with a suitable fence a minimum of six (6) feet in height; said fence shall present an exterior surface such as to make it non-climable, and all doors and/or gates to give access to the pool shall be locked at all times when the pool is not in use or under supervision of a responsible person over the age of sixteen years.
- b) That the drainage of all water from any swimming pool shall be pumped out at a controlled rate
- c) That under no circumstances shall water be drained or discharged from a swimming pool onto or across private or public property unless within a system of pipes.
3. a) That lifesaving equipment consisting of at least one ring buoy not more than fifteen ( 15) inches in diameter to which shall be attached a rope 3/16 inch in diameter and of a length at least equal to the greatest dimension of the swimming pool and one life pole, or shepard's crook type of a pole, at least ten (10) feet long and having blunted ends, shall be provided.
- b) That a life line shall be provided two feet towards the shallow portion from break-in grade between the shallow and the deep portions [five (5) feet or more] of a pool and its position marked with coloured floats at least every five (5) feet.
4. Any person found guilty of an infraction of any of the provisions of this bylaw shall be liable to the penalties provided in the General Penalty Bylaw of the Resort Village.
