Do I need a permit to cut down a tree?

In the City of Weyburn, Saskatchewan, trees & tree removal rules are set by City of Weyburn Urban Forestry Bylaw No. 2018-3373 (Consolidated to include 2020-3414), verified 2026-09-27. Fines: not exceeding Two thousand ($2,000.00) dollars in the case of an individual; or Five thousand ($5,000.00) dollars in the case of a corporation. Boulevard trees: Planting and pruning of public trees shall only be performed by the Parks Department; no person shall cut, prune, alter, or remove any public tree.
