A Hen Permit is required to keep hens in urban residential areas, capped at 6 hens per property with no roosters; hens must stay in the coop. Other poultry, pigeons and livestock may be kept only in designated Country Residential subdivisions under the Zoning Bylaw. Hen provisions were added by amending Bylaw 2012-29, passed July 9, 2012.
